Fresh produce wholesale — picked this morning

Hand-selected at New Covent Garden Market every day. Seasonal fruit, vegetables, herbs and speciality lines delivered to your kitchen before service.

Wholesale fresh produce from the market floor

Our fresh produce comes from New Covent Garden Market — the largest wholesale fruit, vegetable and flower market in the UK. Giuseppe is there every morning, walking the stands before most of London is awake, choosing stock by eye and by hand.

That matters because fresh produce is not a commodity. Two crates of heritage tomatoes from the same grower can look completely different on different days. Ripeness, firmness, colour, aroma — these things change with the weather, the season, and how the crop was handled. Buying well means being there, every day, and knowing what to look for.

We do not buy from a screen or place standing orders with a central warehouse. Every box of fresh produce we sell has been seen and approved by Giuseppe before it goes on the van. That is the difference between wholesale produce and just produce in bulk.

Fresh lines we supply

Seasonal vegetables

Courgettes, aubergines, peppers, fennel, cavolo nero, celeriac, asparagus in season — whatever is at its best right now. We will tell you what is coming in and what is on its way out.

Herbs, leaves and micro-greens

Basil, coriander, flat-leaf parsley, dill, tarragon, chervil, mint, thyme, rosemary. Baby leaves, rocket, watercress, pea shoots. Cut fresh and turned over fast.

Fruit, citrus and speciality

Blood oranges, bergamot, and Amalfi lemons in season. Figs, stone fruit, and berries when they are worth eating. Plus everyday citrus and bananas year-round.

Freshness you can taste

  • The gap between when produce is picked at the market and when it arrives in your kitchen is a few hours, not a few days. We do not hold buffer stock in a warehouse hoping someone orders it. Your produce moves straight through.

  • Cold chain is unbroken. Our vans are chilled, our warehouse is temperature-controlled, and nothing sits on a warm loading dock. Herbs that wilt in a day elsewhere last three days from us because they were handled properly from the start.

  • If something is not up to standard — a box of leaves that looked fine on the stand but turned once opened, a batch of tomatoes that are not ripe enough — we replace it or credit it. No argument, no paperwork.

Seasonal and speciality sourcing

Running a seasonal menu means your supply has to keep up. We track what is coming into season and what is leaving so you can plan changes before the product disappears. Giuseppe will call you when something exceptional comes through the market — a case of white peaches, the first English asparagus, wild garlic that just landed.

If you need something specific for a dish or an event — a particular variety of tomato, a case of porcini, a bulk order of Tropea onions — tell us with as much notice as you can and we will source it. Our relationships at the market go back nearly two decades.
