1 What are cookies?

Cookies are small text files placed on your device when you visit a website. They help sites work efficiently and can give information to site owners.

2 Cookies we use

None set by us. This site does not set any cookies of its own — not even essential ones — so there is nothing to accept or refuse.

Our page analytics are provided by Cloudflare Web Analytics, which is cookieless and collects no personal data. We do not use advertising or third-party tracking cookies. If that ever changes we will update this policy and seek your consent where required.

3 Visit statistics kept in your browser

We do not use cookies for statistics. Instead, our own site keeps a small record in your browser’s local storage, which it uses for 90 days: a random number, the first page you visited, the name of the website that sent you here (for example google.com — never the address of that page or anything you searched for) and, if the link you followed carried one, its short campaign label (for example “gbp” for our Google listing).

It lets us see, as overall numbers, how many enquiries come from people returning to the site and which page or listing first brought them, so we can improve the site. The random number never leaves your browser. We never use it to identify you, never use it for advertising, and never share it with anyone.

While a tab is open the site also keeps the same kind of details for that visit alone, which your browser deletes when you close the tab.

After 90 days the record is no longer used, and it is replaced or removed the next time you visit — your browser does not delete it by itself, so if you never come back it stays there unused until you clear this site’s data. You can switch it off at any time with the “Visit statistics” switch at the end of our Cookie Policy page, which deletes it straight away and stops it being kept again. Clearing this site’s data in your browser also deletes it.

4 Managing cookies

Most browsers let you control cookies in their settings — you can refuse them or delete existing ones. Because we set none, refusing cookies does not change how this site works.

5 Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Any changes are posted on this page with a revised “last updated” date.
